Ladies Leave the Men at Home

We finally have the first EVER all female space walk later this month. After the false alarm last March when due to spacesuit sizing the all female walk was cancelled, we can get excited again! This time it is astronauts Christina Koch and Jessica Meir who will be out of the station together.

What will they be doing? Well…. installing a new battery. Much of what astronauts do day to day in space involves upkeep of the space station and this spacewalk is a perfect example. However, this is not like pulling the ladder out to switch out a bum battery in your fire alarm. This task is expected to take them a whole 6.5 hours to complete.

You can tune in on October 18th on NASA TV at 6:30am EDT (10:30 GMT) with the actual walk scheduled to begin at 7:50am EDT (12:50 GMT).
